Multiverse for the cloud

The multiverse, also known as a maniverse, megaverse, metaverse, omniverse, or meta-universe, is a hypothetical group of multiple universes. Together, these universes comprise everything that exists: the entirety of space, time, matter, energy, and the physical laws and constants that describe them. The definition of multiverse is taken from Wikipedia.

As the word “Cloud” has taken many shapes and forms for some time now, and as every “cloud” vendor, service provider and IT resources within “non IT” companies has their own twist on the translation of the word and when you finally feel that things seems to calm down, and you feel like now you do have a good understanding on how to break down the word “Cloud”, even better you also might have “a point of view” on the subject, maybe a solution to the traditional IT investments, there will be someone or something that changes the game, and those puzzle pieces gets move around again.

Here is my 2 cent view on the “Cloud”

Cloud is and will not be a feature from AWS or a stack from Google or a service from Microsoft Azure where when you apply “Pay as you Go” to it, it automatically is then certified as “Cloud”.

Cloud is not a delivery method which is about someone else is providing a hosted environment with high availability and with a traditional way of applying a “Pay as you go” model, nor is Cloud a set of technical tools to build and deliver application features like APIs built with automatization, self-service and elasticity suddenly is cleared to fit Cloud purpose.

hybrid cloud if it sounds better to you or even Una-Cloud if you like”

Simply it’s about rather then you choosing a cloud vendor for your new projects or if you like the “traditional” vendor from your on-premise or hosted services partner, we simply believe in one (1) platform to rule them all.

We believe in a cloud that is a multiverse or a portal if you like, that is truly built for openness of sharing services between “cloud” providers, on-premise or hosted services that we like to refer to as the multi “cloud”. The nifty thing about this new multi “cloud” is that its not about creating a common place to rent, purchase or order products. Rather we are talking about multi “cloud” which is connecting the cloud with the “old” IT world, providing a “new” agile development environment on vendor independent services to build on.

Also, and more importantly a way of bringing the company, line of business and managers closer to the status of the projects, providing visibility into the ongoing IT investments and tracking results back to the day to day business.

For managers and line of business, Multi “cloud” main purpose will be to gather the company’s entire IT project investments into one common process and methodology. Giving the ability to interact with IT investments in a structured and coordinated way, which will be specially designed for mearing the true business value, providing daily, weekly and monthly insights and a sneak peek into performance, measuring common business value aspect of each individual IT projects.

Giving an easy to follow up on, with controlled roadmap for each specific IT investment and zooming in on a project of high value to the entire development of the company competitiveness.

Managers gets insight and a look into the entire portfolio of IT development, innovation investments and take action and acting, without the locking of project to a specific cloud, framework or methods of work, rather keeping the company innovative instead of deciding on a vendor to keep the road ahead open for later in the evolution faze of the service and investment.
